The malls in Bangkok would be sufficient in making any shopaholic shop until they drop. Additionally, they would help all the dads out there stay entertained when dragged along. The thing with Bangkok is that there are so many malls, and after visiting, I think it is a waste to go to too many. The ones I’ve included have an extra element that makes them stand out from most malls you’ll come across.
Terminal 21
Terminal 21 is probably the best mall I’ve ever gone to, I was riddled with food poisoning and feeling quite delicate and yet I insisted I had to visit every floor.
What sets Terminal 21 apart is its unique theme, where each floor represents a different international city. Creating a diverse and immersive shopping experience. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the chic boutiques of Paris. The mall transports shoppers around the world without ever leaving Bangkok. This thematic approach extends beyond the storefronts, with each floor adorned with intricate decorations and details that capture the essence of the chosen city. Terminal 21 boasts a curated mix of international and local brands. Offering an eclectic array of fashion, accessories, and lifestyle products. Beyond shopping, the mall features an impressive food court that mirrors the diversity of its global theme, making it a culinary journey in itself. Whether you’re a fashion enthusiast, a foodie, or someone seeking a one-of-a-kind shopping adventure. Terminal 21 promises an unforgettable and truly global experience.
Spoiler alert: yes even the toilets are themed and yes they are the best part.
Icon Siam
Icon Siam, a luxurious shopping destination situated along the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. It stands as a testament to opulence and sophistication. The mall seamlessly combines contemporary design with breathtaking river views, creating an unparalleled shopping experience. Boasting an impressive array of high-end international and Thai luxury brands. Icon Siam caters to discerning shoppers looking for the finest in fashion, jewelry, and lifestyle products.
Amidst its grandeur, Icon Siam also houses the enchanting SookSiam zone, a cultural extravaganza that celebrates the rich heritage of Thailand. This is the most stand out section of the mall as it houses its very own floating market! You will be able to find stalls offering lots of thai delicacys and shops offering souvenirs. If you head a floor up you’ll also find some higher end restuarants offering an array of dishes made by thailands finest chefs.
Siam Paragon: Luxury Redefined
If luxury is what you seek, look no further than Siam Paragon. This upscale mall is home to prestigious brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. The mall’s basement is a haven for foodies, offering a gourmet paradise with a wide range of international and local cuisines. Car enthusiasts will appreciate the luxury car showrooms on the ground floor, featuring the latest models from top manufacturers.
CentralWorld: Where Trends Come to Life
As one of the largest shopping malls in Southeast Asia, CentralWorld is a shopaholic’s haven. From high-end international brands to local designer boutiques, this mall has it all. Don’t miss the expansive Zen Department Store for unique Thai and Asian designer collections. The mall also houses a range of entertainment options, including a cinema complex and an ice skating rink.
Chatuchak Market, or JJ Market
Of course I know we’re looking at malls in Bangkok. But if you are in the mood to shop why visit a mall when you can go exploring in the worlds biggest market! I found some real treasures in this market and didn’t even make a dent. With over 8,000 stalls across 27 sections, the market offers a diverse array of goods, from clothing to antiques.
It’s a treasure trove for unique finds and bargains, and visitors can explore narrow alleyways showcasing authentic Thai handicrafts and souvenirs. The market’s lively atmosphere extends to its diverse culinary offerings, with numerous food stalls serving up delicious local treats.
Open only on weekends, Chatuchak Market provides an immersive and authentic experience, making it a must-visit for those looking to dive into Bangkok’s dynamic street life.
